Frequently asked questions
Questions for the NanoFlash team?
Is there something you would like to know about NanoFlash? Send us your question and our team will be happy to help. Selected questions may also be answered anonymously in the public FAQ.
What is NanoFlash developing?
NanoFlash is developing soft, light-responsive nanoparticles designed to target specific retinal cells. Researchers are investigating whether activating these cells with nanoparticles could help restore the retina’s natural visual processing without using gene therapy.
Is NanoFlash already a treatment?
No. NanoFlash is a research project, not an approved treatment. The technology is being developed and tested through a stepwise preclinical validation programme.
Which eye conditions are relevant to the research?
The project focuses on retinal degeneration associated with Retinitis Pigmentosa and atrophic age-related macular degeneration. Any medical or clinical claims will require further evidence and review.
Where can I follow project progress?
You can follow confirmed updates through the News, Stories and Publications sections. More material will be added as the project progresses.
